Over the years

As we grow old, 

We remember our father

So brave and bold. 

In the garden, 

Leaning on the plow, 

He would listen to me; 

I see him now. 

He would give advice

And understand; 

He was always there

To lend a hand. 

God made fathers

Strong and firm, 

For he knew our lives

Would have great concerns. 

So he gave us fathers

To teach us to pray, 

And guide our lives, 

And show us the way. 

So on his day

Let's take the time

To say "Thanks, dad. 

I'm glad you're mine."

Class 6: Activity - Show and tell

Students find it luring, getting things from home and showing them to the classmates and telling others why do they like them. Such is a show and tell activity in which students were instructed to bring their favorite things, show it to their classmates and speak about it. Students displayed their creativity at speaking and went ahead showing things like a newspaper because it is the treasure of knowledge and hence their favorite or even a pack of mango juice because in the hot weather, it is what they like the most or even a dear keychain. The activity aimed at boosting their confidence and making them more comfortable with the classroom environment.

Class 7 activity: Describe a Process

Describing a process is a simple yet difficult way of expression. If the speaker is familiar with the topic, it becomes a cake walk. But if you are unaware of the how and what of the topic, it might be the most difficult thing to do. And imagine, getting topics at random, assigned by your own classmates, unknowingly. Then the topics might vary from perspiration process to that of filling water in a bottle. Whatever the topic was, the students took it up daringly and expressed themselves. They got two minutes to think or probably make notes on the topics given on the spot and then they spoke about them.

Class 8 - Speaking skills activity: Language and Communication

Keeping in sync with the curriculum, students were given a chance to speak about language and Communication, according to them. They spoke beyond the general ideas and spoke about the different languages like sign language or how bar codes are becoming a language. They also talked about increasing the arena of communication and going beyond the regular means.
The activity aimed at making students think beyond the ordinary and to boost their confidence.
